Hi, I’m Evie Hounslow — founder of Sing Street Studios and creator of The Vocal Space.
My love for music began as a young girl with a dream: to sing.
At 14, I found myself a singing teacher and started lesson. I also got my first acoustic guitar, setting me on a journey that’s taken me across genres, countries, and countless stages. Along the way I discovered that music isn’t just something I do — it’s shaped who I am.
Over the years I’ve trained in opera, jazz, contemporary voice, and the art of songwriting, exploring the voice in different genres. I learned that great singing isn’t just about technique — it’s about bringing your life experience into your songs and letting your story shape your sound.
My career has led me through diverse and enriching experiences: I submerged myself in the country scene of Nashville, performed in the UK across London and Scotland’s renowned venues, and completed two singing contracts in Japan. For the past 12 years, I’ve also been performing with my husband in our duo The Summerlings, playing live on stages both big and small. Alongside this, I’ve toured nationally as a backing vocalist and spent years leading worship — each season deepening my love for music and its power to connect people.
For more than 20 years, I’ve been teaching singers — guiding them through the same highs, challenges, and breakthroughs I’ve faced myself. I know what it feels like to chase a dream, and I know what it takes to grow into a confident performer. Now, I feel more equipped than ever to help other singers map out their path, find their voice, and succeed.
My approach is holistic: I don’t just teach technique, I help you become the whole artist. That means developing not only your voice, but also your mindset, confidence, and creativity — giving you the tools to perform with freedom and clarity, whether on stage or simply for the joy of singing.
